Quite often, people think of great ideas and they share it with their best friend.
They tell their best friend not to tell anyone, and you will tell them everything about your new idea. New business idea.
And quite often, your best friend will say “that’s not going to work”, “think about it, who would purchase that?”, “Are you serious about blogging? That will take years”, “As your best friend, I suggest you stay away from it”.
And you instantly feel demotivated, and you walk away from the idea you had.
Now, I’m going to tell you why you shouldn’t listen to people like that.
Yes they are giving their honest opinion, but regardless of how honest they are, they shouldn’t bring your idea down like that.
These are some of the points you should use to remind yourself when others are trying to BRING YOU DOWN.
Point 1: They haven’t tried it themselves
Think carefully. Remember the time when you asked you friend about an idea, and they said it was either stupid, or it wasn’t going to work?
How can they know if they haven’t tried it themselves?
Imagine what you could have accomplished it you have started back then?
Do not listen to people who haven’t tried it. Follow what you think is right. Be yourself. Be confident, and follow your passion and dream.
From their perspective, it may not work. But from your perspective, with the current knowledge and skills you have within that niche, there’s a huge, huge chance it will work.
Point 2: You know yourself better than anyone else
Yes your best friend, or your parents may give you advice on why you shouldn’t do this and that.
But remember, you know yourself better than anyone else out there.
You no longer have to be dependant. It’s time for you to be independent, and do what you think is right.
They are either with you, or not with you.
Take a look at all the entrepreneurs. They dropped out of their college, did some crazy things with their life – like selling their house or failing 10 times.
I’m not saying you should do this, but these people are prime example of how they made their dreams come true – against what other people said.
When you come up with an idea, it’s normally within your passion and interest. So it makes sense that you will know better than your best friend or your parents.
Point 3: Do what you want to do, not what others want you to do.
You are a unique individual. You have your own passion, and you have your own skill set.
It’s crazy to think that people, who don’t know you, tells you what to do.
You have 100% control over yourself, and you know exactly what you are good at! And what you are interested in!
If you have a brilliant plan on what you want to do (for me, I love blogging so I chose to start my own blog), just start.
Starting is one of the biggest success. Like I said many times in my Twitter, Facebook and in my previous blog post, your idea will become clearer as you work on them. Idea’s don’t come out fully formed.
Point 4: Stay true to yourself, never ever give up
Don’t ever give up. Being a successful person, especially if you are entering the online digital world for your business, it’s going to be very, very tough.
And often after you start, if you are not going through some sort of success – people around you will tell you “I told you so”, “why didn’t you listen to me”, “this is what happens when you don’t listen to me”, and their feedback goes on.
It’s really discouraging to hear such things.
But, you don’t have to let that negativity affect you. All you have to do is accomplish smaller goal each day, and you will be one step closer to your success.
No success comes easily. They are gained through determination, inspiration, motivation, and hard work. Never ever give up.
Point 5: Prove them they are wrong
Regardless of what their negativity, prove to them they are wrong.
Show them that you are right, prove yourself.
I love it when people say “you can’t do that, no one has ever done that before”. GOOD! Then I will be the first one to make it through!
It’s a wonderful thought to have, turning the negativity into positivity. You can also do the same, as long as you have your mindset focused on success.
Remember, you have 100% control over yourself, and you have great skills and knowledge that they don’t know about.
Don’t underestimate yourself, and give your 100%. Don’t ever give up, and don’t ever doubt yourself.
These are 5 points of why you shouldn’t let other people bring you down.
